Terrible quality and performance December 22, 2008 Terrible quality and performance
We purchased this camera with the expectation that it would be comparable to a digital single use camera underwater while we were on vacation. We thought that purchasing this non-single use camera would be cheaper than buying 4 disposable ones. The battery life is terrible - I got about 30 minutes of use out of a new set of batteries. If we set the camera to auto or manual flash it takes up to 8 seconds for the camera to return to any functional state (view photo, take photo). The photos themselves were blurry for any setting other than standard view with flash while the target of the photo is motionless - on dry land. Underwater the photos are blurry and usually missed the target as it has a long delay time between pressing the button and actually taking the picture. I didn't get a single successful shot (out of 2 x 40 minute scuba dives in calm water!) so I can't say what a good set of circumstances would be to use the camera. Plus, underwater most of the color is washed out - everything is blue, even with the flash. I checked the web site I ordered the camera through and since I used the camera it is not eligible for return. This piece of equipment was a huge waste of money. I highly recommend looking for a different underwater camera option, even if it is to use a single use camera.
